Break Your Cingular Contract Without the Fee
Basically Cingular fucked themselves by raising the price of their text messaging service to $.15 per message. First this is ridiculous because Cingular is already an expensive company and not the most commonly used feater on a cell phone is 150% the price of everybody else. Aside from this, this price change will allow for anyone to be able to use their "terms of service" agreement (see below) against them leaving free of charge. Haha! Idiots. Maybe I should get out while I can. The text message rate change is effective Jan 21, 2007. You have 30 days from then to break the contract.
Cingular's Terms of Service:
"IF WE INCREASE THE PRICE OF ANY OF THE SERVICES TO WHICH YOU SUBSCRIBE... YOU MAY TERMINATE THIS AGREEMENT WITHOUT PAYING AN EARLY TERMINATION FEE... PROVIDED YOUR NOTICE OF TERMINATION IS DELIVERED TO US WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS AFTER THE FIRST BILL REFLECTING THE CHANGE."

Nintendo Replaces 3.2 Million Wii Straps
It's official. Nintendo has recalled 3.2 million Wii straps offering to replace early originals with new ones almost twice as thick. The Associated Press reports: "Nintendo will offer customers to exchange the old straps, which have a 0.6 millimeter (0.024 inch) diameter, for a beefed up strap that has a diameter of 1 millimeter (0.04 inch), company spokesman Yasuhiro Minagawa said. The worldwide recall is expected to cost the company several million dollars." I love Nintendo's "You've got a problem, we'll fix it" attitude.

Dude Walks Out on a PS3
"After 30 minutes and a full store, only one of the bundles had sold. The cashier looked at me like a pusher looks at a junkie as if he knew I couldn't resit the Sony hype machine. "Realized you were crazy huh?," he said. With that I began to dial up my closest gamer buddies and inform that I would be able to deliver them an "at cost" PS3 console system for the holiday. Each person I called said "no thanks." Even the people that waited in line for the PS3 at launch had decided to move onto the Xbox 360 or wait for a Nintendo Wii. No one wanted it! How could this be? Only two weeks after $10,000 sale prices, riots, robberies, assaults, and now no one ever cares? With that, I realized the PS3 just wasn't worth the hype. My brother looked at me and said, "Quick, lets head over to Circuit City now. If we can get there fast enough, we may have a chance at the Wii."
600,000 Wii's Sold in a Week

Xbox 360's Video Marketplace Is Now Open
The videos are divided among TV, movies, music videos, clips, and game videos. From these selections, videos can then be organized by studio, download rank, etc. Not all videos are available in HD, but a handy "HD Available" image is attached to all videos that do, so you won't have to go all the way to the download screen to find out. You can also prieview the content in a small window with sound. Movies are available to watch 14 days after purchase, or 24 hours after selecting the "play" option. As for pricing, TV shows are 160 points ($2) for standard definition and 240 points ($3) for high definition regardless of length. Older movies run 240 points ($3) for standard definition and 360 points ($4.50) for HD. New movies, on the other hand, are 320 points ($4) for SD and 480 points ($6) for HD.

Wii "Secrets"
· In the Photo Channel, you can catch the evil cat that runs across the screen to get tips! It appears in the Fun option, and you can grab the cat with the A and B button.
· You can have a 194 piece puzzle by holding down the 1 button before selecting any piece amount.
· If you don’t have an SD card and still want to check out Photo Channel, you can e-mail a Jpg to your Wii Message Board. There is a size limit for any mail you send to it - possibly 1mb.
· In Bowling, you can throw your ball into other people’s lanes.
· If you put mp3s in your SD card along with your photos, you can change the background music during a slideshow to one of your mp3s.
· When the messageboard records your play time, if you don’t exit to the Wii Menu before you power off the machine, it records the play time as “other”. If you properly exit to the menu and then shut off it will record it as the correct game.
· You can rearrange almost anything on the wii…like the channels and messages by just holding the A and B
· The plasma burin reduction kicks in the second the wiimote shuts down.
· when you get an e-mail, not only does the disc drive light up and pulsate blue, but your Wiimote sends out a little chirp
· when you’re in the Mii channel and you don’t use the Wiimote for a little bit and your Mii’s start walking around, if you then suddenly use the Wiimote, all the Mii stop and follow the ‘hand’ for about 3 seconds….
· when typing messages, and you need to go back and edit the message(while still typing) instead of deleting letters, just point to where you want to edit to move the type cursor.
· In Wii Sports Bowling, when you press up on the Directional Pad, it will zoom in on the lane. The zoom in sound is the exact same sound from Super Mario 64 anytime you moved the camera.
· Co Op Jugsaw puzzles in wii photos
· You can place the sensor bar upside down and it doesn’t reverse the directions of your movements…
· In wii sports bowling, you can release on the back swing and throw the ball backwards. It scares all the miis behind you.
· Classic controller has analog shoulder buttons. With the GC “click” at the bottom.

RIAA’s Outrageous Fines Questioned in Court
Earlier this year, a victim of a RIAA lawsuit questioned how constitutional the organization's $750 per-song-uploaded claim was. The judge ruled in favor of the defendant. The $750 claim will now be questioned in court and could lead to the defendants winning the case and could set a precedent for future law suits and might even prevent the RIAA from demanding such outrageous amounts. Fucking RIAA.
